Hi! My name is Jordan Nider, and I am a mom, wife, writer, herb nerd, general geek, Jill-of-all-trades, aspiring midwife, and doula in the Northeast Kansas area. I'm a proud Washburn University alumna, and I have had a passion for pregnancy and birth as long as I can remember.
I'm a mom to two sweet babies, and it has been their pregnancies and births that have inspired me most to show up as a radical birth supporter - I believe so strongly in the transformative nature of birth and in the immense power of people who create life, as well as in the deep importance of cultivating a community of care and support during this powerful, magical time. I'm based in Wamego, but I am happy to serve families all across the Northeast Kansas area — my service area is about 50 miles. Please let me know where you're located, and we can either work something out in terms of travel compensation, or I can refer you to another doula in your area. I'm proud to say that, in addition to working privately through Moonchild, I have volunteered with the Topeka Doula Project, an area nonprofit serving teen mothers, incarcerated + reintegrating mothers, and low-income families in the Topeka area. Herbalism and natural health is a particular point of personal interest for me, and while I'm not a licensed herbalist myself, I can connect you with resources to support you with natural medicine during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. If that's something you're not interested in, that's okay too! Have questions about my philosophy around pregnancy and birth? Check out my blog page and my social media to find posts about my various opinions and the evidence-based reasons I believe those things! Better yet, shoot me a DM with your questions, and we'll have a conversation. Talk soon! |
